Toolkit of Objective SB9 Design and Development Standards

The Regional Housing Technical Assistance (RHTA) Program is pleased to share this Toolkit of Objective SB9 Design and Development Standards, an integrated catalog of SB9 standards that can be customized for your local jurisdiction’s use. This toolkit was developed not to supplant existing zoning, but to be modified and adopted as an overlay zone that local jurisdictions can apply when the minimum SB9 two-unit development and/or two unit subdivision is proposed and cannot be achieved under a jurisdiction’s existing residential zoning.

Editable electronic files that comprise the Toolkit (InDesign files and the supporting Illustrator and Photoshop files) are also available. Due to the highly technical nature of these files, this information will be best used by staff that can work with the 3 software programs or a 3rd party professional who has that capability. RHTA Program will host a webinar early this summer with Opticos, who developed the standards to introduce the toolkit and go over highlights for editing and customizing.
